When you arrive at Long Stay 1 Park and Ride
Drive up to the entry barrier and wait for the machine to read your number plate – this can take up to a minute. The barrier will open, so you can drive in and park.
If nothing happens, press the button marked 'assistance' so you can speak to a member of staff through the intercom. They'll ask you to confirm your details. Don't insert your credit or debit card into the barrier at any point or you'll be charged again. Also, don't press the ticket button, as this will stop you from entering the car park.
Once you're through the barrier, find a space and keep your keys. Then just catch the shuttle bus to the terminal. It runs every 15 minutes, takes 3 to 5 minutes and is included in the price.
During the winter months (October to March) the shuttle bus is not available and you'll need to take a taxi to the airport. Alternatively, you can walk to the terminal in around 20 minutes.

On your return to East Midlands
Once you've collected your luggage, make your way to the Arrivals Hall. Walk past Greggs and the Arrow taxis desk, and the buses are to the left of the car park office outside. Catch the bus from here back to the car park.
Then, just drive to the exit barrier, which will lift to let you out – this can take up to a minute. If it doesn't, press the button marked 'assistance' and a member of staff will let you out. Don't insert your credit or debit card into the barrier at any point or you'll be charged again for your parking.
