- Exit the M23 at Junction 9 and take the second exit at the roundabout onto the A23.
- You'll pass the South and then the North terminal of Gatwick airport on your left before reaching the Longbridge roundabout.
- Take the first exit onto Povey Cross Road and continue onto Charlwood Road, then Horley Road.
- Once you reach the village of Charlwood, there are brown signs directing you to the hotel.
- Follow these to turn right at the end of the village, just after Murray Designs, then left onto Stan Hill.
- The hotel is about a mile along this road up the hill on the left-hand side.

Entering the postcode into your satnav may only take you to Beggarshouse Lane, on the edge of the property. Continue on Stan Hill for 200m and the hotel will be on your left.

If you're parking overnight, you'll need to enter yoiur car reg and register you car at reception. Make sure you remember to register your car to avoid any parking charges.

Take a seat in the wood-panelled dining room of the 1881 restaurant under the glittering chandelier and sample some delicious, home-grown cuisine. A sample menu might include smoked salmon on sourdough toast to start, braised British pork belly with creamy mashed potato, cavelo nero cabbage, pink peppercorn and sage jus for your main, and a baked vanilla cheesecake with strawberry coulis for dessert. Dinner is served from 6pm until 9pm.

Elsewhere, the restaurant serves a lighter menu for lunch from 12 noon to 6pm, plus the hotel bar offers sandwiches and nibbles. Make sure to book a table in advance to guarantee a spot in the restaurant.

For breakfast, the restaurant offers formal, waiter-service dining with all the usual cooked breakfast items – there's a continental buffet if you'd prefer something lighter.

The hotel can book a taxi for you in the morning. A standard car costs £20.50 each way, which includes a £7 compulsory Gatwick charge. You can request a 6-seater for £27 each way, and an 8-seater for £32 each way.

The hotel's car park is monitored by an ANPR camera, so make sure you register your car when you check in or you may receive a £100 fine. Don't leave anything valuable in your car as this will be at your own risk.

The hotel is also an event venue, and there may be a private function during your stay. The hotel does its best to allocate rooms away from any event, but you might notice a little background noise now and then.
