Long stay parking
Long stay parking will save you money if you’re travelling for more than a couple of days. You can choose from one of four options:
There are two long stay car parks if you’re flying from the north terminal: long stay north terminal and summer special parking Gatwick.
Long stay North Terminal
This is a self-park, where you take your keys with you once you’ve parked up. A transfer bus runs 24-hours a day and takes just five minutes to get to the South Terminal.
Summer special parking Gatwick
Operating all year round (despite its name) the summer special car park offers Gatwick parking at its best. You simply park at the reception check-in and hop on one of the regular shuttle buses to the airport. While you’re gone a member of staff will park your car for you. The shuttle bus runs 24-hour a day, leaves every 10 to 20 minutes and takes a mere five minutes to get to the North Terminal.
Two long stay car parks that service Gatwick’s South Terminal.
Long stay South Terminal
You park and take your keys with you in this self-park car park. The bus to then takes you to the South Terminal in a journey taking only 5 mins.
Long Stay Plus
Just leave your car and keys in the reception area and your car will be parked for you. Then hop on the bus for the four-minute bus ride to the South Terminal. The long stay plus car park is open between April and October for stays of five days or more.
Short stay parking
Whichever terminal you’re flying from, the Gatwick short stay car park is conveniently situated between the two. There’s no transfer bus to catch, you just walk across the link to your terminal. This car park has won the prestigious Park Mark Award.
The most expensive but quickest option for car parking at Gatwick Airport. Why not treat yourself to this premium Gatwick parking service and get your trip off to a good start. It takes less time to transfer from your car to the airport terminal than any other parking service. Gatwick valet parking is ideal for people in a rush or who simply don’t want the hassle of finding a space in a car park and waiting for a bus transfer to the airport terminal.
Official Valet parking at south and north terminal
For the south terminal the official airport valet (meet & greet) reception area is on level 2 of the red short stay car park. Its important to prebook to get the best prices and availability. We’ll send you a booking confirmation, directions and map. You park in the short stay area and hand your keys in to reception.
Same procedure as the south terminal except that you the reception area is on level 3 of the short stay car park at the north terminal.
In both cases, a driver will then take your car to a secure car park and bring it back on your return. The secure car park has security fencing, cctv cameras, floodlighting and regular patrols by staff.
Airport approved – meet and greet
We offer some other valet parking companies that are airport approved. This means they have met the following requirements…
- CRB & Police Criminal Record checks are carried on all staff on all staff before and during their employment.
- Proof that security measures claimed exist and these measures have been inspected by local specialist police officer
- Accreditation to trading standards “Buy with Confidence” scheme
- Proof that all parking sites being used have correct planning consent
- Proof that all drivers and the company are adequately insured
- All staff wear uniform and carry photgraphic ID

The following companies we feature have achieved the approved status…
- APH – Airport Parking & Hotels

Most of these companies operate in the traditional meet and greet valet style parking, which is to wait for customers at the drop off point outside the terminal. Your car is quickly checked over for dents and scratches, then the driver takes your car to a secure off-airport car park.

The whole point of valet parking is that someone will be there to meet you and take the car straightaway. On my departure day from Gatwick, having rung P4L as requested ten minutes before I arrived, I had to wait another 35/40 minutes for their agent to turn up. I rang reception at P4L a couple of times to ask what was going on and was fobbed off with "there's a ten minute delay".On my return yesterday there was a 20 minute delay though P4L at least gave me a more accurate delay time estimate.I like the fact that they linked my mobile phone number with my car and were aware that my arrival was early and that it had been transferred from the South to the North Terminal.
The Summer Special parking was reasonably priced compared to other options at this time of year. We didn't wait long for a bus and the ride was short in each direction. The system to register seemed a little clunky but it did work and again we didn't wait long, however this may get worse in the full blown high season. All in all not as convenient as Valet parking buy cheaper and no where near as far or slow as the other park and ride options.
Fantastic and Friendly Service. Very local to the Airport with great punctual shuttle service to the airport. Highly recommended.
On arrival at airport had to wait 20 mins for car to be picked up then on return i had to wait 30 mins for my car to arrive at pick up point, the driver did not attempt to help me load my suit cases just stood and watched me struggle ,he gave me my keys at the back of my car then asked to sign a form took my passport no and befor i had time to get in my car he had jumped into the JVC van and drove off igot into my car and noticed my windscreen was cracked from the passenger side to 3/4 across to drivers side the car was covered in tree sap and mud under the front bumper i.e. parked in a field under trees my car was valeted the day be for departue i took pictures of my car at the airport si can pove this point i have complained by e mail to the complaints office when arriving home on Monday but still have not had a reply to day is Friday the crack is across my wind screen through my eye site i would not use this company again think twice befor you do.Chris Liddiard 07970277707
Fab service slight delay when dropping off but I was early so no problem. Return was great car was there as promised. Have used before and will use again!!
Very good stay as usual, will be using again July 14th....excellent
We arrived about an hour early but it was not a problem and we got on a bus straight away to take us to the airport. When we arrived back we rang after we had collected our bags and by the time we got to the bus stop a bus was waiting and the driver had our names. The keys were waiting for us at reception and the car was parked at the front. Faultless service and we would definitely use this company again.
Painless and very well organised - will definitely use again
We have used Purple Parking a number of times and always been very happy with the service. The staff that booked out car in and handed our keys back at the end were cheerful and helpful. The checking in and out was speedy and efficient. My only 'complaint' is that when we collected my vehicle this time, it looked like someone had disconnected the battery. This meant that I either had to stop and reset all the displays or drive home mentally converting everything from kilometers to miles because the vehicle had reset to kilometers when the battery was reconnected. It may be that there was a good reason why the battery was disconnected so perhaps drivers should be pre-warned so that after a tiring flight they are prepared for the metal arithmetic required for the conversion!
All went well despite the booking for one of the cars being made for the wrong time so they weren't expecting it. Sorted out efficiently though. As we made the bookings consecutively there would appear to be room for improving the booking process to prevent stupid customers making the same mistake! See you next time.
